Winter | Creative Portraits

A few weeks ago something occurred to me.

We pick the time of year with the greatest amount of death,

With the least amount of creation,

And the greatest amount of cold

To call our New Year.

We celebrate it as a new beginning, only a week and a half after the day of the year that holds the most darkness,

and most often before the coldest day of the year has even hit.

This realization brought me back to a truth that is never far away-

Every beginning also comes with an ending,

As every ending brings a new beginning.

The darkness and the light are two parts of a whole and

Both need to be embraced, respected and accepted in order for us to be whole as well.
